Two-day training courses are offered on a regular basis at various sites around the world. The cost is $500-700/person (depending on location). We also provide on site training courses for our clients for $1,400-1,950/day (depending on location) plus the travel expenses of the trainer. Technical support is provided at no extra charge via telephone, fax, or e-mail. Our experts answer 95% of hotline questions within 24 hours. And if your resources are stretched and need extensive help for a specific project, our applications engineers will be happy to do it for you on a consulting basis.
A typical agenda for a two-day course follows below. Pictures from past courses also follow. The training courses are hands-on and highly interactive. All participants have the opportunity to practice on the computer the various topics that are covered during the course.
As you may notice from the training schedule that follows, many of our courses are hosted by Universities around the world. Hosting Universities receive a free academic site license of SuperPro Designer and can send a small number of faculty members and graduate students to attend the course free of charge. If you are interested in hosting such a course, please send email to
Dr. Demetri Petrides. In general, we prefer Universities that are close to major cities and/or industrial hubs with easy transportation and availability of lodging amenities. The courses can be scheduled during school breaks to avoid conflicts with regular course work. The minimum requirement for hosting a course is the availability of a computer lab where SuperPro Designer can be installed and utilized during the course.

Course Instructors
The majority of the courses are offered by Mr. Demetri Petrides (shown below), the President of Intelligen, Inc. Mr. Petrides holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from MIT and has extensive experience in modeling and optimizing biochemical, pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, and end-of-pipe treatment processes.
Courses in parts of Europe and in South East Asia are handled by Mr. Alexandros (Alex) Koulouris (shown below), the Managing Director of Intelligen Europe. Mr. Koulouris holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from MIT and is an expert in Process Modeling and Automation.
Mr. Charles Siletti is in charge of courses in the Pacific Rim and in parts of North America. Mr. Siletti holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from MIT and is the Director of Planning and Scheduling Applications at Intelligen, Inc. He has extensive experience in process modeling and optimization. Dr. Siletti is also an expert in Scheduling and Debottlenecking of multi-product manufacturing facilities.
Pictures from Past Training Courses
The following picture is from a course (open to the public) that was offered at the Saarland University in Saarbruecken, Germany on May 13th and 14th, 2002. The course was attended by scientists and engineers from biotech, pharmaceutical, chemical, and environmental companies from various European countries (e.g., Denmark, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and Switzerland). We also had two graduate students from Germany, a professor from Denmark, and a professor from Portugal.
The following picture is from a two-day course that was offered at Novo Nordisk, Denmark, on December 6th and 7th, 2001. The course was attended by 17 chemical engineers working for Novo Nordisk Engineering and Novo Nordisk Pharma (the R&D and manufacturing divisions). The course focused on batch process simulation with emphasis on production of biological and synthetic pharmaceutical products. Considerable time was spent on issues of throughput analysis and debottlenecking related to main as well as auxiliary (e.g., CIP and SIP skids) equipment.
